Dealing with Dizziness Naturally

There is some point in our lives wherein we experience dizziness. It is most likely to occur in times wherein we suffer from too much stress and too much exhaustion. People who often experiences dizziness characterize it as a spinning feeling, weakness and lightheadedness. Some people are saying that it seems the whole world slowly darkens until such time that all that they can see is total darkness.

The main cause of dizziness is inadequate supply of blood to the brain. Therefore, conditions that limit the blood supply may cause dizziness. Dizziness is commonly referred as a symptom of different medical conditions. But the spinning sensation that one experiences is being related to a medical condition called vertigo.

There are several factors that cause dizziness. The most common causes are as follows.

1.  Decreased blood pressure is considered to be one of the most common causes of dizziness. Once the blood pressure drops, person may experience dizziness, lightheadedness and there is a chance that the person suffering from it might lose consciousness. Once the blood pressure drops, the blood enriched with oxygen that is supposed to be delivered to the brain will be lessen. This is the main reason why the person feels dizzy. Aside from dizziness, the person may also suffer from shortness of breath, sweating and chest pain.

2.  Heart illnesses are one of the major causes of dizziness. There are certain heart related problems that can cause dizziness such as arrhythmia, increased heart rate or too slow heart rate, and heart attacks. Among the causes of dizziness, heart illnesses are considered to be the most alarming. These illnesses will disable the heart to pump enough blood.

3.  There are certain medications that can cause dizziness. Good examples are the beta blockers, this medication may limit the rate of the heart to increase. Other examples of medications that can cause dizziness are sedatives, tranquilizers, antidepressants, pain relievers, some types of antibiotics as well as diuretics for it can lessen the heart rate.

4.  Sudden change of body position can also cause dizziness to the person. This condition is being referred as orthostatic hypotension.

5.  During the first three months of pregnancy, dizziness is very common among pregnant women. Pregnant women with problems related with blood pressure are more likely to experience dizziness. Majority of people with high blood pressure experiences dizziness. It is due to the abnormal circulation of blood.

6.  Ear infection is also considered as one of the most common causes of dizziness. Remember that our ears play a significant role in terms of maintaining the body’s equilibrium.

Though there is vast range of medications that can alleviate the problem in dizziness. It is true that these medications can help in dealing the problem with dizziness, but we have to admit that there some medications that can cause adverse effects. In order to avoid undesirable effects, it is highly recommended to use natural ways to alleviate dizziness.

There are a lot of people who are using ginger and extracts of ginger as remedies for dizziness. It is known to have stimulating qualities and helps in maintaining the normal cholesterol level. It is also effective in managing motion sickness. It can stabilize the conflicting messages that the brain receives.

Celery juice is also considered as a good remedy. It does not act directly on dizziness but it helps in decreasing the blood pressure. Gingko biloba can also ease dizziness because it can promote good blood circulation in the inner aspect of the ear.

Rescue Remedy or the combination of certain herbal medicines such as Rock rose, Cherry plum, Impatiens, Star of Bethlehem flower and Clematis, can help alleviate dizziness due to stress, panic and too much anxiety.

It is also necessary to avoid stimulants such as coffee, nicotine, cola and alcohol in order to stabilize the blood pressure.

It is nice to know that there are natural ways that one can try out first before turning to artificially made remedies.
